Prince of Wales College is a national school governed by the Ministry of Education. For Grade 1
admissions, parents should adhere to the admission procedures outlined by the government for the
upcoming academic year. Similarly, for Grades 3, 4, 7, 8, 9, and 10, applicants can follow
government announcements and apply for internal grades if vacancies exist, in accordance with
government gazettes. From Grades 1 to 5, all subjects are taught in the Sinhala medium. However,
from Grade 6 to 11, there is a separate class specifically for English medium students.
