Embracing Tradition: Sinhala New Year Celebrations at Prince of Wales College

In a kaleidoscope of colors and customs, the sacred rituals of Sinhala New Year Celebration 24 illuminated the grounds of Prince of Wales College on April 10th. With reverence and joy, students, faculty, and families alike came together to usher in the Aluth Avurudu, marking the beginning of a new year filled with hope, prosperity, and cultural significance.

Amidst the festive atmosphere, generations-old traditions were honored and cherished, serving as a reminder of the rich cultural heritage that binds the community together. From the rhythmic beats of traditional drumming to the aroma of sweet treats wafting through the air, every moment was infused with the spirit of renewal and the joy of togetherness.

As families gathered to partake in time-honored customs, the bonds of community grew stronger, fostering a sense of belonging and unity among all who were present. The Sinhala New Year Celebration at Prince of Wales College not only serves as a moment of reflection and gratitude but also as a vibrant expression of cultural identity and pride.
