Cambrians Secure Emphatic 105-Run Victory in 40th Limited Over Encounter

Moratuwa witnessed an electrifying showdown as Prince of Wales College (Cambrians) dominated St. Sebastian’s College in the 40th Limited Over Encounter of the Battle of the Golds 2025, securing a massive 105-run victory.

The Cambrians delivered a stellar batting performance, with Gawesha Fernando (57 off 93) and Suwas Fernando (46 off 99) anchoring the innings. Malintha Silva added a solid 38 runs, while Adesh Almeida made a remarkable all-round contribution, scoring 28 runs and taking 4 wickets.

On the bowling front, the Cambrian attack was relentless. Nethul Anuhas (4/26) and Rivith Jayasuriya (3/18) tore through the Sebastianite batting lineup. Despite Kaveesha Perera’s fighting knock of 25 off 58 balls, the Sebastianites fell short, unable to counter Cambrians' dominance.

With this commanding win, Prince of Wales College continues its cricketing legacy, proving once again why they are a force to be reckoned with in the historic Moratuwa cricket rivalry.
