Cambrians finish their first innings on 263 all out, securing a 49-run first innings lead over Bastians in the 76th Battle of the Golds.

A determined batting effort saw Suwahas Fernando anchor the innings with a brilliant 77 (144), supported by Palingu Perera 42 (123) and Oshan Maneesha 29 (32), guiding the Cambrians to a strong total.

With the ball, Nethul Anuhas and Rusandu Silva delivered key breakthroughs, finishing with 3/48 and 3/39 respectively to keep the momentum with the Cambrians.

At the end of the first innings, Prince of Wales’ College hold a crucial 49-run advantage, setting the stage for an intense continuation of the contest as St. Sebastian’s College begin their second innings.
